写真の町のスツール

「写真の町」東川町が開催している写真家への賞、東川賞の授賞者に贈られるトロフィースツールをデザインしました。

東川町の写真文化を象徴するトロフィーとなるよう、このスツールはすべてのかたちのモチーフを写真の道具から着想を得ています。六角形に空いた座面の穴はカメラの露出のかたち、丸い曲面の座面全体はレンズのかたち、先端の丸い三本脚は三脚のかたちです。また、六角形は冬の東川町に降る雪の結晶のかたちでもあります。

シンプルで小さめのスツールは日々の生活のなかで使うことができます。

高度な技術を必要とする複雑な組み手を、美しく製作していただいた木魂（こだま）の服部さんに感謝いたします。

Photo town stool

I designed a trophy stool given to winners of the Higashikawa Prize, a prize for photographers held by Higashikawa, the town of photography.

In order to become a trophy that symbolizes Higashikawa's photographic culture, the motifs of all shapes of this stool are inspired by photographic tools. The hexagonal hole in the seat is the shape of the exposure of the camera, the entire curved seat is the shape of the lens, and the three legs with rounded tips are the shape of a tripod. The hexagon is also the shape of the snowflakes that fall in Higashikawa in winter.

A simple and small stool can be used in everyday life.　I would like to express my gratitude to Mr. Hattori of Kodama who beautifully produced the complicated kumite that requires advanced techniques.
