ごあいさつ

今年は台風の被害によって、妻の実家の屋根が飛び、知人の家の3階木造部分が飛び、災害復旧に明け暮れた1年でした。進行する温暖化のなかで建築をつくることや、家具のデザインをすることの意味や目的が、否応無しに少しずつ変わって来ているように思います。人間がすべての活動を停止しても、しばらくはこの温暖化の進行は止まらないそうです。気候の変化の速度についていけるよう、日々考えながらデザインをしていきたいと思っています。

Greetings

The typhoon flew over the roof of my wife's parents' house and the roof of an acquaintance's house. It was a year full of disaster recovery. I think that the meaning and purpose of designing architecture and furniture are changing little by little as the global warming progresses. Scientists say that even if humans cease all activity, the progress of this warming will not stop for a while. I would like to design and think to keep up with the speed of climate change.
