Cedar bookcase

My photographer friend came to the workshop with an old cedar plank which she found in her father’s house and ask me to make a bookcase. The plank seemed like for base flooring under tatami floor. She sanded the surface a little and cut into the size she wanted. I assembled to a box using little glue and brass nail. As it was strong enough, we decided not to put a back board.
She always looks for interesting objects on the street. She also picked the chabudai table up I repaired two years ago. Shabby items have special textures which brand new things cannot produce. Her life is surrounded only with those pleasant feels. I would like to deeply consider if I can live by these kind of furniture making. Our ideal future must be in this direction.
